Meanwhile, Mithran gets into a predicament and faces the wrath of the commissioner of police (Mohan). An irked Mithran hatches a plot to bump off the top boss himself and entrusts the job to Unni, who now operates separately. However, the commissioner escaoes the attempt on his life. In order to save his skin, Mithran hudes Unni at his molested his beloved wife while he was away. He kills Unni in a staged encounter.

Next his anger turns towards Koni. The rest of the story is narrated in a crude and crass manner. Mahesh Raja as a ruthless thug is totally convincing, but an educated, upper-class Udhayathara falling for a criminal doesn't ring true. The real scene-stealer is Kishore, who has underplayed his part and done well. Had the director reduced the blood and gore, the movie would have been appealing.

Nayanthara is vexed and returned to Kerala due to unavailablity of tamil film chances. She vacated the hotel room in which she stays usually. She was a number 1 heroine in Tamil film industry and has acted in three films with Super star Rajini kanth.

Debut director Thamura has done his best to create a lively entertainer which manages to live up to all the hype, at least in parts.

The story os set in Cheranmadevi, where Ramasamy (Balachander) live. He's a village bigwig and a Congress sympathiser. He also happents to be at loggerheads with Singaravelan (Bharathy Raja), a hardcore Communist. They feud between them is nearly four decades old. Their grandchildren continue the legacy of mutual mistrust and lose no opportunity to express their aversion for each other.

But a romance brings about a complete turnaround between the warring factions. Susheela (Anjali). Sympathising with their true love, the chilldren put aside their anmity and tri to can web. Whether of not they succeed in this noble venture, form the climax of the flim.

Thamira has shown guts to weave a storyy around children, at a time when filmmakers are chasing big heroes and focusing on mass-appeal songs. Getting good work from children is no easy task, but Thamira has certainly pulled it off.

Balachander (KB) as a director proved himself a master st extracting the same as an actor, he knows what to give on screen and does exactly that. If KB-is spontaneous, Bharathy Raja is articulate. The veteran filmmaker is brilliant as an angry old man. Anjali looks good and suits her role, whil Aari is adequate as the military guy. Karunas evokes laughter with his humorous turn as a cop.

Karthik Raja's songs are pleasant and hummble. The film coud have been an Imayam or a Sigaram of Tamil cinema if only the director had concentrated more on the script. Produced by Shankar for S Pictures, the movie is typical of his home productions, all of which are a departure from the run-of-the-mail stuff. The movie is a bit long, and some trimming could turn it into an enjoyable entertainer.

The hero of film "Rail payanangalil" calling Srinath aged 50 suicided today. He acted around 100 films including Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

The superstar in malayalam "Mohal lal" starring "Sihar" film shooting is going on Kodhamangalam, Ernakulam district. Srinath also acting in main role in this film hence he stayed one hotel there.

According to sources, Mani along with his cast of Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram, has planned a whirlwind tour of the USA and the UK to reach out to a global audience for Raavan. Since Rahman's popularity is sky -high in international circles, mani is making every effort to rope in the maestro for his promotional campaign. In the meantime, the entire team is gearing up for the high-profile audio launch of Raavan in Mumbai scheduled for April 24.
