Ko movie review

The story begins at Dinanjali, a newspaper office where Ashwin (Jeeva), is a photographer while Renu (Karthika) and Saraswathi (Piyaa) are seen as journalists working woth the same newspaper. All three of them try to break the news and stand up on their toes for all getting the latest happenings news. Ashwin’s lens is creative and he captures all well.

Other character Vasanth (Ajmal) gets entered and he is an engineer. Though is an engineer his aim is to become a politician and wants to change the society. Vasanth plans to contest in the forthcoming elections. Ashwin has good political contacts and he makes his friend Ajmal a politician for a good cause. But after turning as a politician Vasanth turns into a corrupted politician like all other politicians and kicks out Ashwin from his camp. Yogi (Prakash Raj) is the Chief Minister of that political party. Vasanth joins his hands with Yogi and forgets to do good for the society. During some unexpected instance Saro is killed in a bomb blast. When seeing all these Ashwin plans to cut down Vasanth by using the same political contacts. But Vasanth who is annoyed with the chain reactions plans to take revenge on Ashwin. The rest of the story shows the interesting plans of Jeeva with bends in the story.

Performances:

All the performances are excellent, and equally applaudable.

Jeeva distinguish as Ashwin and he seems smart and polished in his character. Great! His dialogue delivery and body language are outstanding and brilliant. While performing action and serious scenes he perfectly transformed himself well.

Karthika has made her Kollywood introduction with KO and has performed her role with perfect. She looked beautiful and especially in songs both Jeeva and Karthika looked as a perfect pair. No doubt Karthika will soon come up to the top list of actresses.

Piaa Bajpai is good in the role of journo and is the right fit. Thanks to director KV Anand for choosing her. Piaa looked simple and stylish.

Ajmal as Vasanth has given equal performance to that of Jeeva. He stood out in his role and proved his mettle once again with KO. He comes up with win with this film.

Watch out for Prakash Raj’s outstanding performance and nobody blink his eyes while he is on screens. He is back after a long time with a considerable role and undoubtedly he rocked in his role. Especially during counter sequences with Jeeva deserve great acknowledgement . Waiting for many movies from you Prakash Ji.

Cinematographer – Director K V Anand has made this film with heart and soul as he started his career as a photojournalist. He directed the film in his own pace and also added all real life instances which are fascinating, entertaining and racy. Many movies have appeared on screen of this genre but the director has made a different attempt by showing the media men as demi gods. KV Anand has elevated the human angle of the journalists. In fact Anand has clearly showed the guts, willpower and the passion towards the profession through Ashwin’s character.

Music by Harris Jayaraj is undoubtedly outstanding. He can be termed as one of the hero in KO. He scored smooth and catchy tunes which when viewed with visuals are simply a great eye treat. Especially the locations in Norway are beautiful and one will surely plan for a trip to Land of Rising Sun. Background score is racy and it has along with the proceedings.

The way the film is detailed deserves a great applause and the film is better understood in each and every scene and it makes sure that we are into the movie straight away. Script by Subha is fast and furious. Thanks to him.

Cinematography by Richard Nathan is excellent. He captured the foreign locales exceedingly intelligent. Anthony's editing is superb.

On a whole KO is brave as the shown in the trailers. One can’t move his eyes from the screens as the film engages the audiences with a well designed story. KO is definitely double of Ayan. The film is surely a great entertainer and you will not get bored at any given point of time.

Quick Take: K(G)o to book your ticket and enjoy it.

Kullanari kootam - review

Kullanari kootam movie review

Kullanari Koottam is disappointing, not just because it does not have an impressive storyline, but because the makers were seemingly in a hurry to finish things without going into the details, leading to a very weak narration, especially in establishing the characters and the climax. However, the film is engaging and has some stuff that evokes laughter in places.

Starring Vishnu and Ramya Nambeesan in the lead roles, Kullanari Koottam revolves around Vetri (Vishnu), an unemployed MBA graduate in Madurai, who is waiting for the right job to come his way. His life takes a different turn when he mistakenly tops up an unknown mobile number instead of his dad's phone. Realizing his mistake, Vetri tries to contact the number, belonging to a college girl Priya (Ramya Nambeesan), to recover the amount he just spent on getting her number recharged. To avoid Vetri's continuous phone calls and missed calls, Priya fixes a place to meet him and return the money. As expected, they fall in love. Priya's father, a policeman, insists that to marry his daughter, Vetri should become a policeman. This leads Vetri to attend a police test in Chennai. During the recruitment, Vetri and friends find corruption at all processes of examinations and decide to fight back! What happens next forms the rest of the film.

The first half of the film is set in Madurai backdrop, but the bloodthirsty culture that is always projected in Tamil Cinema as an inseparable part of the city is missing in the film. The first half wholly deals with the Vetri-Priya romance which is roiled without any “moments”, so when you ask why they've fallen for each other, you would have no answer. The makers should have concentrated more on developing the characters to avoid such a situation. The second half (depicting how five young men, including Vetri, take on corrupt police officials without much effort) may not be a believable assumption, but it's interesting to see them swing into action at lightning speed. The climax is too short as well. However, director Sri Balaji has managed to make Kullanari Kootam fairly engaging even without a hero who challenges the bloody-minded, pitiless villains, a comedy track that lacks continuity and amazing stunts. Concisely, Kullanari Koottam is not worst or best.

Songs that make me Impulsive

clock April 18, 2011 18:21 by author Administrator

This is a movie called "Khabi Khabi", which I have watched many times but rarely wait care for it's schedule of it's reception on television. However there are moments in this movie for which I wait with unbearable level of anxiety if I come to know that the movie will be aired on TV at some channel.

The moments in this movie are those moments which I have felt myself in my course of life .., and they come live and existential once I experience those moments while watching this movie.

These moments in this movie are moments of my life that I need not discuss here or at some other place beautiful space on this earth, but one thing is for sure we are usually amazed that level scientific and engineering innovations and discoveries made by great people of our existence, but normally just feel good about the people to write lyrics of songs and astonish us with beautiful words of wisdom and poetry.

I would like give them same degree of respect as that of any scientist would get by making amazing things which change course of mankind.

When I listen to songs in these movies, especially "KABHI KABHI-MAIN PAL DO PAL KA SHAYAR HOON" and kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein - KABHI KABHI  of this movie, it gives me profound impact on my soul and heart which I cannot explain in words but feel in experience only.

I would like to pay tribute to all the circumstance that made him write such things of wisdom and love. I like to pay all my due respect to all the people who made do such beautiful acts of love and grace especially the women to came and went away in his life.

Mappillai - Movie review

Mappillai movie review

Dhanush and remakes go to extend. This time, the actor is back on screen with Mappillai, remake of his father-in-law Rajni's 1989 blockbuster of the same name. Mappillai is special for many reasons, most importantly, for its name. The film also marks the Kollywood introduction of young sensation Hansika Motwani. In Mappillai, Manisha Koirala, who played the female lead opposite Rajni in Baba, appears as Dhanush's mother-in-law. This is the second time combination with director Suraj after their blockbuster Polladavan.

Definetly, Dhanush's Mappillai has the same game like original. The film describes the story of Saravannan (Dhanush) who falls in love with Gayathri (Hansika Motwani), daughter of a rich businesswoman Rajeshwari (Manish Koirala). Though Saravannan and Gayathri get married, her mother commits to separate the couple. So Saravannan decides to teach a lesson to his aunty. And the rest of the story is about how Saravannan, with the help of his friend Child Chinna (Vivek), meets Rajeshwari.

It's Dhanush, Dhanush and Dhanush all the way. The film completely belongs to him; he speaks punch dialogues, sings and dances. In fact, Dhanush has done it all pretty thinfs. Again, for the second time, the Dhanush-Vivek combo sets the screen on fire. In Mappillai, get ready for some comedy tracks between the duo (remember Padikathavan?). Debutant Hansika Motwani looks beautiful on screen; however her character is very limited. Manish Koirala makes a strong comeback to Kollywood after a long gap. Ashish Vidyarthi, Kadhal Thandapandi, Sathyan Sivakumar, Vaiyapuri, Madhan Bob, Chitti Babu, Pattimandram Raja and Sri Ranjani have performed their parts well.

Mani Sharma's lively tunes is other highlight of the film with the song 'Enoda Rasi' standing out. Director Suraaj, who has also handled the story and screenplay, has followed the Rajni hit faithfully.
