Popular director Bharathiraja has recently approached Karthika to play the lead role in his challenging project Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum, which will have Parthiban as the hero. The film will also have Iniya (of Vaagai Sooda Vaa fame) as the second lead. Set in Madurai, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum is a period film which runs through four decades: 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The film will have Parthiban in a double role with different get ups.

The director has already combined with young composer G.V. Prakash as the music director for the project. As music plays an important and has to reflect the respective periods, GV is currently doing research on the kind of folk rural music in these four decades. Around 150 people from Kollywood including Mani Ratnam, K Balachander and Balu Mahendra are expected to attend the puja. The movie will begin it's first schedule in Theni on November 20, 2011.

The famous Music director Ilayaraja's wife Jeeva passes away on yesterday night due to heavy heart attack. Her age is 60. Jeeva's body is going to her native Pannipuram and the formal activities will be held on tomorrow.

Mrs.Jeeva is beloved one to his family. She acts as bridge between Ilayaraja's music journey and family life. She is severly suffered by chest pain yesterday, the family members brought her to Appollo hospital Chennai. But the doctors told that she has died already.

Jeeva has 3 children Karthick raja, Bhava Dharini and Yuvan Shankar Raja. She is more affectioned with her last son Yuvan. Ilayaraja was at Hyderabad for music related works, he returned to Chennai when heard the sad news.
