Famous director Bharathiraja is back in the village atmosphere, doing what he does best. He starts his ambitious project "Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum" in which Parthiban plays the lead role. The film will have Parvathy (of Poo fame) as the leading lady. Set in Madurai, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum is a period film which runs across four decades: 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The film will have Parthiban in a double role with different get ups.

Now the latest news is that the director has leashed in young composer G.V. Prakash as the music director for the project. Since music plays an important and has to reflect the respective periods, GV is currently doing research on the kind of folk/ rural music in these four decades. Interestingly, GV's uncle A.R. Rahman teamed up with the popular for Kizhakku Cheemayilae in 1993, and now it's GV's turn.
